We recently had the pleasure of having Year 10 pupil Dylan Kayley-Walsh from Mount Carmel Roman Catholic High School join us for a week. In celebration of World Youth Skills Day 2023, Dylan has written a blog chronicling his week with us:
I’ve done loads while I’ve been here, like editing a video for a charity and helping script a video that will be used in an advert. These videos will be used to make people aware of what these companies do.
I’ve mostly been helping Jon and Lance across different projects, like creating a social media calendar for brand awareness and creating engaging posts so they remember who Maxmedia are.
They didn’t leave me out when filming either as I got to go to a primary school where I helped plan and direct a video to promote the school. It was really fun and interesting as I was able to see the filmmaking process from behind the scenes.
I’ve learnt lots of things during my week, including what a real office is like and how a marketing agency works and what it’s like to work with clients. It’s been an interesting experience as I was able to do real work that will actually be used by clients.
I’ve enjoyed my time here and the team made me feel very welcome and appreciated. I always had lots to do and there wasn’t a moment where I wasn’t involved.
Thank you Maxmedia for being friendly and welcoming and giving me all the help I needed.
Dylan, it was great having you!
